Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 July 2026
MathScans ("we", "us", "our") operates the MathScans iOS application and the mathscans.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you when you use our services.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier.
Scan images. Photos you submit for scanning are sent to our servers for processing. Images are deleted from our servers immediately after the solution is generated and are not stored permanently.
Scan history. The recognised math expression, answer, and solving steps for each scan are stored in your account so you can review them later.
Preferences. Your math level, language, decimal separator, and notation preferences are stored to personalise your experience.
Subscription data. We receive subscription status events from RevenueCat (our payments processor) to determine whether your subscription is active.
Usage analytics. We may collect anonymised usage data (e.g. which features are used most) to improve the app.
